What is the best time to visit Tanzania for a safari?

The best time for wildlife viewing in Tanzania is during the dry season (June to October) when animals gather around water sources. The Great Migration in the Serengeti is best witnessed from June to August (river crossings) and January to February (calving season). However, Tanzania offers excellent wildlife viewing year-round.

Most international travelers fly into Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) near Arusha, or Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam. We can arrange airport transfers and domestic flights to connect you to your safari or beach destination.

Most nationalities require a visa to enter Tanzania. You can apply for a visa online (e-visa) or obtain one upon arrival at the airport. We recommend checking with your local Tanzanian embassy for the most up-to-date requirements. We can assist with visa guidance.
